RDP students, faculty and staff also engage in multi-disciplinary applied research with community partners, such as the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre (CACAC). Together with the CACAC, RDP is identifying best practices related to integrated practices for child advocacy.

In addition to housing modern facilities on campus, Red Deer Polytechnic offers expertise and resources that support advancement of research across a variety of research themes. Along with supporting applied research that is conducted by members of the Polytechnic community, RDP collaborates with entrepreneurs, industry, not-for-profits and government. These partnerships help to solve key problems in the areas of manufacturing, sustainable energy, rural and community health and wellness, environment and ecology and child advocacy.
