The Central Alberta Buccaneers have announced that they will be returning to ME Global Athletic Park in Lacombe for all of their home games in the 2024 season.

Paul Jensen, the Chairperson for the football team says it's a great thing. "We're really excited to be back in Lacombe this year to play all of our home games there. We received our schedule from the league and found it worked out better for the organization to settle down in Lacombe for practices and games this year. We're really excited to come back."

The Bucs also released their six-game schedule for this year including the three home games. They kick off the season June 1st at home to the Calgary Wolfpack. The other games at ME Global park will include June 15th against the Edmonton Elite and July 13th vs the Calgary Gators.

The Buccaneers will also play an exhibition game coming up this Saturday, May 4th. The game at ME Global Athletic Park will kick off at 4 pm. against the Calgary Gators.

Another aspect of the football team is how they want to be a part of the community. Jensen talked about an event they have before the game on Saturday. "We are doing a food drive for the Lacombe Food Bank. We will be outside of the Lacombe Sobeys from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM before we head over to MF Global for our exhibition tilt. We've always really had a lot of pride in being in the community. Blood drives, food drives that sort of stuff. So we're really looking forward to bringing a a good return to the Food bank Saturday afternoon."
