On Wednesday, April 1st, an information alert was sent to residents and businesses of Red Deer County through the information alert app.
The purpose of the alert was to inform residents and ratepayers that as of May 1st, all communities with municipal water systems in Red Deer County will enter into stage 1 outdoor water restrictions. Stage 1 is a voluntary restriction.
Poster from Red Deer County Restrictions are automatically in effect yearly from May 1st to October 1st, and will support water conservation efforts by setting a guideline for certain water use activities depending on the severity of environmental conditions.
Note that these restrictions do not apply to acreages, farms or any other properties with private wells or an onsite water system.
