The Red Deer Rebels have now won 8 games in-a-row.

Their streak continued Friday night at the Peavey Mart Centrium as they beat the Edmonton Oil Kings 6-3. It looked like it may have been in danger at the start of the game as the visiting team outshot Red Deer 10-5 and were winning 1-0 after one.

Then the Rebels woke up. Kalan Lind got the home team on the board at the 2:40 mark of the second to kick off a 6-goal second period. Frantisek Formanek, Matteo Fabrizi, Mats Lindgren, and Hunter Mayo (who would score twice) all added to the Rebels tally.

The Oil Kings would make it interesting with a couple more goals in the third period but it wasn't enough to stop Red Deer's winning streak. Chase Wutzke was the winning goalie for the Rebels.

The Rebels now sit in fourth place of the WHL Eastern Conference, just one point behind the Moose Jaw Warriors and three points behind second-place Medicine Hat Tigers.

Red Deer will host the Brandon Wheat Kings tonight, 7:00 pm at The Peavey Mart Centrium, and then will go on an extended 5-game road trip through Saskatchewan starting on Wednesday.
